Kailua-kona
North Kona: The North Kona district encompasses the area from Kona Village Resort/Hualalai Resort, Kukio Resort, Keahole Point to Honokohau Harbor and Old Kona Airport through Keauhou, mauka to makai. The leeward, sunny coast of Kailua-Kona is home to the annual Ironman World Triathlon Championship, Annual Billfish Deep Sea Fishing Tournament and the world-famous Kona Coffee, to name a few. Rich in history, historic Kailua-Kona Village was once a fishing village and a retreat for Hawaiian Royalty. Hulihee Palace and Mokuaikaua Church (the first Christian church in the islands) are located on Ali’I Drive. The Kona Heritage Corridor is a 10-mile stretch on Old Mamalahoa Highway that will take you back in history with lush tropical landscaping, iconic landmark stores and home of the best coffee in the world.
